Originally a pair of Victorian semi-detached houses that have been sympathetically converted into this attractive, comfortable and relaxed hotel in Newbold, a residential area of Chesterfield. Nick and Tina Buckingham are well-known for their warm and friendly hotel, which specialises in superlative food. The hotel's modern facilities are combined with an attention to detail and quality of service.

Restaurants and Bars
The Restaurant with One Table is unique as it has no menus. This means Buckingham's Hotel can prepare your meal to your personal requirements, with the emphasis on quality and freshness. All they need to know are your dislikes, allergies or dietary requirements, be it low fat, wheat intolerance, vegetarian, diabetic or that you just don't like mushrooms.
There is a choice of 4 menu levels: bronze, silver, gold and platinum. It is important to note that the level of menu does not reflect the quality of cooking and merely the variation of the ingredients and occasionally the degree of technical expertise required in preparation. A meal will be created that is unique to you and your guests. The best meals are the ones that are created on the night, making the most of the market produce available that day.
Due to its popularity, it is essential to pre-book a table at the restaurant before arrival.
Your meal can also be enjoyed in the Clowns Conservatory Restaurant.
Directions
By Car:
From junction 29 of the M1:
- Take the 2nd exit at the roundabout onto the A617 to Chesterfield.
- At next roundabout take the 2nd exit and go 400 yards to another roundabout (Homebase) and take the 2nd exit (Kiwk Fit).
- Follow the road to the town centre (roundabout with car park in centre).
- At the traffic lights (Eyres) get into the right-hand lane and follow the road round.
- At the next traffic lights move to the left-hand lane (by the multi-storey car park) and follow the road round to the mini roundabout (Jet station).
- Take the 1st exit, signposted Barlow (B6051).
- Buckinghams is 800 yards along this road on your right, just after the zebra crossing.
From Manchester:
- Follow the A619 to Chesterfield until you come to a roundabout (B&Q on your right).
- Take the 1st exit (Foljambe Road) and follow the road until you come to traffic lights.
- At the traffic lights go straight ahead (passing the side entrance of Chesterfield Football Ground).
- Follow the road to a T-junction (one way street).
- At the T-junction move into your right-hand lane, turn right and immediately move into the left-hand lane (Cross Street).
- Follow the road, turning into Queens Street (3rd road on your left).
- At the end of Queens Street turn left - Buckinghams is 10 metres further along the road.
From Sheffield:
- Follow the A61 to Chesterfield.
- At the roundabout (J E James and Little Chef) take the 4th exit (B6057).
- Follow the road straight on until you reach a roundabout (Donkey Derby).
- Take the 2nd exit and go straight ahead over a mini roundabout.
- At the next mini roundabout (Jet Station) take your 2nd exit, signposted Barlow (B6051). - Buckinghams is 800 yards along this road on your right, just after the zebra crossing.
